Un dîner multiculturel au 490
Ô vous, habitants diurnes du 490, entendez ceci…
L’Association étudiante (AECETE) vous invite à participer nombreux à son traditionnel dîner multiculturel. Attention! Ce n’est pas seulement une « activité étudiante », mais une activité du 490 ouverte à tout le monde.
Il s’agit d’un dîner formule potluck* avec animation**.
Quand: Mardi 17 mars 2020 dès midi
Où: A l'aire de repos du 3e étage

Vous n’êtes pas obligé de participer à l’animation, évidemment, mais le potluck, lui, n’est pas optionnel. Pour cette occasion, l’aire de repos du 3e sera réservée en tout ou en partie, selon le nombre d’inscriptions.
Important! Vous devez fournir la liste des ingrédients de votre plat pour des raisons de santé (allergies et intolérances), des raisons environnementales ou éthiques, et des raisons religieuses.

* Potluck : vous apportez un plat à partager, qu’on peut réchauffer aux micro-ondes ou qui se mange froid.
** Animation : chant, danse, théâtre, poésie, slam, musique, art du cirque, bodypainting, etc. 5mn max. En solo ou en équipe. On vous contactera pour vous donnez plus de détails. (OK, le bodypainting, c't'une blague...)

Et pourquoi maintenant?
- Le 17 mars sera la St-Patrick, célébrée par les Irlandais et par les Québécois, lesquels doivent beaucoup aux Irlandais côté culture (et ADN). Pour clore l’hiver, on a même d’habitude une traditionnelle tempête de la St-Patrick (aussi nommée « bordée des corneilles » en milieu rural où il y a encore des corneilles…)
- Le 21 mars sera Norouz, LA grande fête annuelle iranienne de la lumière, environ l’équivalent de Noël pour les Occidentaux ou du Nouvel An pour les Chinois.
- Le 21 mars sera aussi Holi, la fête des couleurs indiennes. Préparez vous à vous faire enduire de poudre rose.... :)
- Et ça tombe donc bien que ce soit aussi le début du printemps (d’un point de vue astronomique en tout cas)
- Pis tant qu'à y être, ce sera aussi la Semaine de sensibilisation contre le harcèlement, la discrimination et l’incivilité du 16-20 mars...

The Student Association (AECETE) invites you to participate in large numbers in its traditional multicultural lunch.

Potluck: you bring a dish to share. To be heated in a microwave or to be eaten cold. No stove.
Entertainment: song, dance, theatre, poetry, slam, music, breakdancing, etc. 5mn max. Solo or as a team.

You don't have to participate in the animation, of course, but the potluck is not optional.

For this occasion, the lunch area of the 3rd floor will be reserved in whole or in part, depending on the number of registrations.

Why do this now?
- March 17th will be St-Patrick's Day, celebrated by the Irish (there are some in real or in DNA at 490) and by Quebecers, who owe a lot to the Irish in terms of culture (and DNA). For the last call of winter, we usually even have a traditional St. Patrick's snow storm (also called " crows’ storm" in rural areas where there are still crows ...)
- March 21 will be Norouz, THE great annual Iranian Festival of light, about the equivalent of Christmas for Westerners or New Year for Chineses.
- March 21 will also be Holi, the Indian festival of colors. Prepare to be coated with pink powder .... :)
- It’s good to know that it’s also the beginning of spring (from an astronomical point of view anyway)
- And it will also be Harassment, Discrimination and Incivility Awareness Week from March 16-20.
