GREEN AXIS, une vision INRS du fameux 3e lien

Une équipe enthousiaste de l'INRS, «GREEN AXIS», a participé au concours étudiant Environmental Challenge International (ECi) dans le cadre de la Conférence ''Air & Waste Management Association’s 112th Annual Conference and Exhibition (ACE)'' qui se tenait à Québec du 25 au 28 juin 2019, et dont le thème était "Winds of change".

Le défi à relever cette année portait sur «la nécessité pour le troisième pont de relier Québec et Lévis sur le fleuve Saint-Laurent afin de faire face à l’augmentation du trafic, d’économiser du temps précieux et d’avoir des effets positifs sur les activités commerciales entre deux villes."

GREEN AXIS a entrepris une approche novatrice pour relever le défi en prenant en compte différents aspects du projet, notamment l’ingénierie, la santé, l’économie, l’écologie et la durabilité globale. Philippe-Edwin Bélanger et Louis-Cesar Pasquier ont remercié l'équipe pour son idée novatrice de résolution du problème.

C'était la première année que l'équipe avait des représentants des quatre centres de l'INRS (ETE, UCS, EMT et IAF). L'équipe comprenait Bharti Bhadana (ETE), Mélanie Groh (UCS), Razine Bouache (EMT) et Itumeleng Moroenyane (IAF). GREEN AXIS est un excellent exemple d’esprit d’équipe pour les événements à venir, où quatre représentants ont présenté leurs approches créatives pour relever le défi proposé.

It was a great pleasure for INRS having an enthusiastic team “GREEN AXIS” who participated for this year’s “ECi competition” organized by ACE-2019 “Air and Waste Management Association’s 112th Annual conference and Exhibition” with the theme “Winds of change”. This year’s challenge was “the need of the third bridge to link Quebec and Levis across St. Lawrence River in order to accommodate the increasing traffic, save commuters’ valuable time, and ultimate positive effects over business activities between two cities.

GREEN AXIS undertook an innovative approach to the challenge by considering different aspects of the project including engineering, health, economy, ecology and overall sustainability. Philippe-Edwin Bélanger and Louis-Cesar Pasquier appreciated the team for their innovative idea to resolve the problem.

This was the first year that team was having representatives from all four centers of INRS (ETE, UCS, EMT, and IAF). The team included Bharti Bhadana (ETE), Melanie Groh (UCS), Razine Bouache (EMT), and Itumeleng Moroenyane (IAF). GREEN AXIS is a great example of “Team Spirit” for future events, where four representatives came with their creative approaches for the given challenge.

INRS is very grateful having the students who are always ready to take over the challenges.
