Mary-Claire Ward Geoscience Award (GAC)

Le concours est maintenant ouvert pour le Mary-Claire Ward Geoscience Award 2026, parrainé par la Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) et l'Association géologique du Canada (GAC). Le Mary-Claire Ward Geoscience Award a été créé pour honorer la mémoire de Mme Ward. L'objectif de ce prix est d'encourager et de soutenir un étudiant de 2e ou 3e cycle au Canada dont la thèse est susceptible d'accroître notre connaissance de l'histoire géologique du Canada par le biais de la cartographie, et dont la recherche comporte une forte composante de cartographie géologique. En plus du prix de 5 000 $, le lauréat a le choix d'accepter le prix soit lors du congrès annuel de la PDAC (du 1er au 4 mars), soit lors de la conférence annuelle du GAC-MAC (du 25 au 28 mai). L'association hôte (PDAC ou GAC) prendra en charge les frais de déplacement, d'hébergement et d'inscription à l'événement.

Applications are now open for the 2026 Mary-Claire Ward Geoscience Award, sponsored by Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) and the Geological Association of Canada (GAC). The Mary-Claire Ward Geoscience Award was created to honour the memory of Ms. Ward. The intent of the award is to encourage and support a graduate student in Canada whose thesis is likely to increase our knowledge of the geological history of Canada through mapping, and who’s research has a strong geological mapping component. In addition to the $5,000 award, the recipient has the choice of accepting the award at either the annual PDAC Convention (March 1-4) or the annual meeting of the GAC-MAC (May 25-28). The host association (PDAC or GAC) will cover the expenses for travel, accommodation, and registration of the event.
